The Positive Options Program (POP) of Charlottee-Mecklenburg Schools is offered for students who have been involved at school or at school activities with alcohol, marijuana, or another unauthorized drug, and for whom this is a first offense. Students with these offenses may be referred to The Positive Options Program.
The focus of POP is to provide awareness for participants through drug education and to build positive life skills in the areas of communication, decision-making, and self-esteem. It is felt that if a change in behavior is to occur it will happen successfully in the family unit. For that reason, parents take part in all of the POP sessions.
