CASCADE, (Courage and Support for Changing Attitudes, Dependencies and Environments) Services provide a continuum of care for pregnant, postpartum substance abusing women.

Diagnostic assessments, intensive outpatient treatment (day and evening schedules), continuing care for those who have completed outpatient or inpatient treatment elsewhere, aftercare, and family programs. The CDC also operates Mecklenburg County’s Alcohol/ Drug Education Traffic School- (ADETS), for persons who have a DWI and must complete ADETS. The CDC programs are also available in Spanish, with fully bilingual counselors on staff. An assessment is required prior to admission.

The Local Management Entity offers Screening services for persons with mental health, substance abuse, or developmental disability problems. The first link in the chain of continuum care is made by calling Screening and Triage. A clinician will help the client to figure out how to access services.

A wide variety of bilingual (English/Spanish) education, prevention and early intervention services. The Drug INFO LINE is a confidential referral source for alcohol and other drug related questions/problems. DRUG INFO talks to adult, youth, and parent groups. Resources library is also available.

Residential substance abuse treatment provides 32 beds of intensive residential substance abuse treatment for adults who suffer from alcoholism and other drug addictions. For residential/relapse programs: Must be screened and pre-approved through Screening and Triage by appointment Monday through Friday at 3500 Ellington Street, 8 A.M. till 5 P.M., or by pre-approval through other authorized portals.
